Google receives over 63,000 searches per second on any given day. That’s the average figure of how many people use Google a day, which translates into at least 2 trillion searches per year, 3.8 million searches per minute, 228 million searches per hour, and 5.6 billion searches per day. So yes, a lot of people go to google and type in what they are interested in knowing, finding, or buying.

Google sends out what are known as “spiders”

and their job is to meticulously search the internet and what are they looking for exactly? Relevance. Once these “spiders” determine what a website or piece of content is about they index it. How they go about this NO ONE KNOWS because it’s determined by google’s secret algorithm. However, there are certain practices one can utilize to inform google that your content is relevant.

KEYWORDS AND KEYPHRASES

One of the best tactics to show relevance is the use of keywords and keyphrases. Keywords are the search terms that people will enter when doing a google search. Keyphrases are several words that people will use for a search term. For example: a person may type the word Lawyer when doing a search or they may use the phrase Real Estate Lawyer.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which means the skill and expertise that will lead to your website, blogs, and other content ranking high on search engines. By ranking high, we mean coming as close as possible to the first search results in Google and other search engines.

SEO can be divided into two sections.

1) On-Page

2) Off-Page

Each section has it’s own sub-sections.
